Hi! I'm Ri and I began this blog, Hiver et Café in 2014 to spread my love of books and also to rekindle my own love for books.
In 2014, I won a copy of Laini Taylor's Daughter of Smoke and Bone from a Goodreads giveaway and while the first time I had read it I was less than impressed, upon the second read I was blown away by the book. I had a completely different impression after reading it when I was older.

If I was required to write a review as part of the Goodreads giveaway stipulations, I thought I might as well start a blog and share my thoughts on other books as well.
Over the years, my taste in fiction hasn't changed much at all. I read fantasy for the most part and in particular I'm quite interested in historical fantasy. I also love a good treasure hunt and mystery. National Treasure is one of my all time favourite movies, if that says anything at all about me.
Beyond books, I'm very interested in photography, fountain pens and lipstick. And of course, my blog's namesake, coffee.
