Character Love is a feature that I created to share the characters that I love every Saturday!
So my Character Love this week is Karou from the Daughter of Smoke and Bone! She's so kickass and she has natural blue hair! I love how smart she is and she is one of those characters that you will be rooting for throughout the entire series!
My fancast of Karou is the beautiful Disa from Deviantart.
I did edit this photo a little bit to make her hair bluer and to remove her nose ring. But that's it.
She has a stock account on DeviantArt where she released some photos of herself when she had blue/turquoise hair. She's European, so she has that whole sophisticated look going for her as well as the blue hair!
"Inessential penises? Is there any such thing as an essential one?"If you love fantasy and have somehow been unaware, Daughter of Smoke and Bone is one of the best YA fantasy series out there. It's intricate and complex and incredibly beautiful. If you haven't read it, you should really give it a shot!
"I am one of billions. I am stardust gathered fleetingly into form. I will be ungathered. The stardust will go on to be other things someday and I will be free."
"Brimstone once told me that to stay true in the face of evil is a feat of strength."
"My tiny, scary friend is coming."
"Gods of math and physics, I accept your gift of this clever fair-haired boy."
"Perhaps fate laid out your life for you like a dress on a bed, and you could either wear it or go naked."
Around the world, black handprints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.
In a dark and dusty shop, a devil’s supply of human teeth grown dangerously low.
And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherwordly war.
Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real, she’s prone to disappearing on mysterious "errands", she speaks many languages - not all of them human - and her bright blue hair actually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she’s about to find out.
When beautiful, haunted Akiva fixes fiery eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?
Happy Reading!
