Wilhelmina has a hundred identities.

She is a princess. When the Indigo Kingdom conquered her homeland, Wilhelmina and other orphaned children of nobility were taken to Skyvale, the Indigo Kingdom’s capital. Ten years later, they are the Ospreys, experts at stealth and theft. With them, Wilhelmina means to take back her throne.

She is a spy. Wil and her best friend, Melanie, infiltrate Skyvale Palace to study their foes. They assume the identities of nobles from a wraith-fallen kingdom, but enemies fill the palace, and Melanie’s behavior grows suspicious. With Osprey missions becoming increasingly dangerous and their leader more unstable, Wil can’t trust anyone.

She is a threat. Wraith is the toxic by-product of magic, and for a century using magic has been forbidden. Still the wraith pours across the continent, reshaping the land and animals into fresh horrors. Soon it will reach the Indigo Kingdom. Wilhelmina’s magic might be the key to stopping the wraith, but if the vigilante Black Knife discovers Wil’s magic, she will vanish like all the others

Jodi Meadows introduces a vivid new fantasy full of intrigue, romance, dangerous magic, and one girl’s battle to reclaim her place in the world.

[Cover Reveal] Red Carpet Day Job by Tasha Cotter

GUYSSSS. I'm excited to show you the cover of this book! I'm excited to read it. It's a New Adult book that is about celebrities and it's one of my favourite contemporary subjects to read. So here's the synopsis of the book for you to check out!

Most of the working-class secretaries in New York City don’t spend their mornings wrestling skirts from beneath roosting chickens or cleaning egg yolk off their heels. But Sophie Waldrop does, thanks to her boyfriend, Scott, and the organic egg business he runs out of her 5th floor walk-up. Though they’ve been dating since high school, Scott no longer pulls his weight in the relationship—financially or emotionally. Sophie’s ready to send him, and his chickens, packing.

The day she breaks up with Scott, Sophie’s boss introduces her to the firm’s new client, Nick Jackson—the hottest up-and-coming actor in Hollywood. Sophie can’t believe her luck when her boss volunteers her to be Nick’s date for a red carpet award ceremony that same night. Freshly single, Sophie tries to keep things in perspective as her “work event” leads to a budding romance. She didn’t expect to like Nick, and she certainly didn’t expect him to like her.

When her dream job lands in her lap, Sophie rejoices that her hard work has finally paid off. But she soon learns that it may have been Nick's influence that opened the doors and created the opportunities that she would rather have earned for herself.

Nick’s hectic schedule, the persistent leading ladies with whom he works, and Sophie’s own promotion and career ambitions further complicate their fairy-tale romance. Can Nick and Sophie make their love last, or will their relationship be more like the paparazzi’s camera flashes—fast, bright, and fading?

Are you ready to see the cover? yes? Then SCROOOOOOLL!!!!!!

Isn't it pretty and sparkly? A little overkill on the textures, but it's sparkly! I'm really excited to read this one because I'm a sucker for these kinds of novels.

This book doesn't have a Goodreads page yet, but I'll definitely update this post when it goes up! :D This book will come out in time for Valentine's Day.

A deliciously charming novel about finding true love . . . and yourself.

Nothing ever happens in Little, CA. Which is just the way Carter Moon likes it. But when Hollywood arrives to film a movie starring former child star turned PR mess Adam Jakes, everything changes. Carter's town becomes a giant glittery set and, much to her annoyance, everyone is starry-eyed for Adam. Carter seems to be the only girl not falling all over herself to get a glimpse of him. Which apparently makes her perfect for the secret offer of a lifetime: playing the role of Adam's girlfriend while he's in town, to improve his public image, in exchange for a hefty paycheck. Her family really needs the money and so Carters agrees. But it turns out Adam isn't at all who she thought he was. As they grow closer, their relationship walks a blurry line between what's real and what's fake, and Carter must open her eyes to the scariest of unexplored worlds - her future. Can Carter figure out what she wants out of life AND get the guy? Or are there no Hollywood endings in real life?

Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award!

Thank you so much to my lovely friends, Amber and Jessica over at The Book Bratz for nominating me for this award! Lots of hugs for the both of you! <3

So the guidelines for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award are as follows!:
  • Thank the blogger that nominated you, and link back to their site.
  • Post the award's logo onto your blog.
  • Answer the 10 questions you've been asked.
  • Nominate 10 other bloggers and ask them 10 questions.
So let me just go ahead and answer Amber and Jessica's questions for me. :)

1. One book character you wish had their own series?

Oh this is a hard one! Maybe a whole prequel series thing for The Darkling, from Leigh Bardugo's Grisha series? I haven't read the last one yet, so I don't know what happens to him. I would really love to know more about him though. He's sexy. Even if he is kind of evil.

2. What was your rating on the last book you completely finished and why?

The rating on the last book I completely finished is 5 stars for ALL FALL DOWN by Ally Carter. I'm not going to go too in depth as to all the things I loved about it because there's going to be a review going out in January for it. ALL FALL DOWN is fantastic and I think it's Ally Carter's best book and best character to date. It's a phenomenal read and I'm so excited for people to pick it up!

3. One book that you had to read for English class that you actually enjoyed?

Now this book wasn't for English class per se, but I used to go to an English tutor and she made us read TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD. It's by far my favourite classic. I think perhaps it's because it's told from the point of view of a little girl that made it for me.

4. One genre you just can't get into?

I am generally not a big fan of chick lit, though I do tend to read some at times. I'm more of an escapist type reader, so fantasy and paranormal books really attract me and I tend to read less contemporary books.

5. Favorite part about being a book blogger? Least favorite part?

My favourite part about being a book blogger is all the fabulous books that I've learned about after starting blogging and also of course the absolutely wonderful bloggers I've met! <3 My least favourite part is probably trying to find time to blog in between class work and reading. It was easier when I was in high school, but university is just draining me of time and energy.

6. Are you a book pusher?

Absolutely! I only push the books that I absolutely adored on other people though. This year it's mainly been Vicious by V.E. Schwab, The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski, Red Rising by Pierce Brown and occasionally the Throne of Glass series and We Were Liars. I'm a little hesitant about pushing books that are long series on my friends just because it's a big commitment and also We Were Liars, as much as I loved it, is not for everybody.

7. Can you read with tons of distractions around or must it be quiet?

I can totally read with distractions. Music, noise, whatever. As long as I can zone it out, it's no problem whatsoever.

8. Favorite food to munch on while reading/blogging?

I don't really have a favourite food? I basically eat whatever's around.

9. What book are you currently looking forward to?

What else? THE WINNER'S CRIME by Marie Rutkoski! I absolutely loved The Winner's Curse and I'm seriously so excited to read the next book. like. oh my gosh.

10. What was the first book you ever added to Goodreads?

Surprisingly, To Kill a Mockingbird!

And so, here are my nominees for this award!

1. Pili from In Love with Handmade
2. The ladies from  The Fangirling Misses
3. Lynne from Words of Mystery
4. Maisha from Books Equal Awesomeness

I know you're supposed to tag/nominate ten people, but seriously, literally all the people I know have done it. So.

Here are my ten questions:

1. Who is your favourite book boyfriend?
2. What is a book that you absolutely NEED right now?
3. What's a book that you've been recommending?
4. Which Hogwarts house are you?
5. How did you get into book blogging?
6. What is the first book you ever got signed? (Or have you not? That's okay too!)
7. How do you balance book blogging in your daily life?
8. What are you currently reading?
9. Which OTP sails your ship? (AKA. What's your favourite bookish couple?)
10. Where do you like to read?

Well. That's it from me. Thank you so much again, to the lovely ladies from The Book Bratz for tagging/nominating me for this! :) I hope y'all have fun if/when you do this! :D

Eight years ago, Addie Webster was the victim of the most notorious kidnapping case of the decade. Addie vanished--and her high-profile parents were forced to move on.

Mark Webster is now president of the United States, fighting to keep the oval office after a tumultuous first term. Then, the unthinkable happens: the president's daughter resurfaces. Addie is brought back into her family's fold, but who is this sixteen year old girl with a quiet, burning intelligence now living in the White House? There are those in the president's political circle who find her timely return suspicious.

When the NSA approaches Noah Stark, a nineteen-year-old White House intern the Websters have hired to tutor Addie, he doesn't know what to think. How the hell could this slip of a girl be a threat to national security? But at the risk of having his own secrets exposed by the powerful government agency, Noah agrees to spy on Addie without the White House's knowledge.

It soon becomes apparent that Addie is much more than the traumatized victim of a sick political fringe group. Addie has come home with a mission. Will she choose to complete it? And what will happen if she does?

Idk how I'm surviving the wait for this one. THRILLERS ARE MY WEAKNESS OKAY? I also really love political shows and power struggles and such. I loved the first season of House of Cards (I've only watched the first season) and this book is toted as a YA version of House of Cards. This book is what my story-lover heart's dreams are made of. I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE. Seriously. You best believe I'll be picking this one up.

I am so excited to introduce this book to you guys! I've been hearing nothing but good things about this book and I'm super excited to read it myself! I'm definitely picking it up soon when I have the chance. :D Here's the low down on The Book of Ivy.

Publisher: Entangled Teen

Release Date: Nov. 11/ 2014 (a.k.a. TODAY!)

After a brutal nuclear war, the United States was left decimated. A small group of survivors eventually banded together, but only after more conflict over which family would govern the new nation. The Westfalls lost. Fifty years later, peace and control are maintained by marrying the daughters of the losing side to the sons of the winning group in a yearly ritual.

This year, it is my turn.

My name is Ivy Westfall, and my mission is simple: to kill the president’s son—my soon-to-be husband—and restore the Westfall family to power.

But Bishop Lattimer is either a very skilled actor or he’s not the cruel, heartless boy my family warned me to expect. He might even be the one person in this world who truly understands me. But there is no escape from my fate. I am the only one who can restore the Westfall legacy.

Because Bishop must die. And I must be the one to kill him…

And here's the book trailer for THE BOOK OF IVY!

“You were right, Ivy,” [Bishop] says quietly. “It does bother me. The way our choices are taken away from us.”

I’m almost scared to breathe. He is confiding in me, opening up to me exactly the way my father and Callie wanted. “Why didn’t you say something right then?”

Bishop sighs. “I’m not…I’m never going to be the guy who lays it all out there. That’s not me. Until I really know someone, not much gets out. It’s just the way I’m built.”

“Okay,” I say, waiting. If nothing else, I understand what it’s like to have a part of your personality that’s not easy to change.

“But it doesn’t mean I don’t have feelings,” he says. “That things don’t matter to me.”

I take a sip of water. “I shouldn’t have said that, the morning we fought, about you not feeling anything. That wasn’t fair.”

“I understand why you might think that,” Bishop says. “But it’s not true.” He pauses. “I wanted something else, too. Something more than being your husband.”

“Like what?” I ask.

His eyes drop away from mine. “Nothing that matters now. This is what we have. This life. Each other. This house.” His hand thumps downward. “This couch.”

My heart jumps. Was all this a prelude to getting me into bed? I’m already kicking myself for sitting down on this stupid sofa.

“Relax, Ivy,” he says, a smile in his voice. “I’m not asking for anything.”

But someday he will. As far as he knows, this relationship is forever, and I can’t imagine he’ll want to sleep on the couch for the next fifty years. I’m not sure what I’ll say if he does ask. For the sake of my father’s plan, I know my answer has to be yes.

“Well, I’d better get to bed. Work in the morning.” I stand, set my cup down on the coffee table.

Bishop’s voice stops me before I get to the hallway. “You told me you were trying, remember?”

I glance back at him. “Yes,” I say, cautious.

“I’m trying, too.”

“I know,” I say, watching the way his eyes shine in the moonlight. I turn and go back to bed.

[Book Haul] October Book Haul!

I know. This looks so ridiculous doesn't it. Because it is. Not only is there this madness, there's also three ebooks that I got too. I'M LIMITING MYSELF TO THREE BOOKS A MONTH NOW OKAY. OKAY.

Anyways, here are the books that I got/received this month:

  • Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness
  • All Fall Down by Ally Carter
  • In The Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken
  • Stone Cold Touch by Jennifer L. Armentrout
  • Lailah by Nikki Kelly (ARC & Final Copy)
  • Talon by Julie Kagawa
  • Monument 14 by Emmy Laybourne
  • Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater
  • We Can Work it Out by Elizabeth Eulberg
  • Quidditch Through The Ages by Kennilworthy Whisp (aka J.K. Rowling)
  • The Palace of Laughter by Jon Berkeley
  • The Whispers of the Fallen by J.D. Netto
  • Whatever Life Throws At You by Julie Cross
  • Between the Stars and Sky by David James

First off, THANK YOU SO MUCH, SCHOLASTIC CANADA! Thank you fro sending me Blue Lily, Lily Blue, We Can Work It Out and All Fall Down! I'm so so so excited to start reading the new Ally Carter book! I absolutely adored her Heist Society series and I'm excited to be able to marathon the second and third book in the Raven Cycle series!

Thank you so much to Drew from Endlessly Reading for sending me Monument 14 along with the Lailah ARC! He sent it to me as part of our little Traveling ARC thing that we have going. The ARC has a bright future for itself. Watch out. ;)

Thank you so much to Genissa from A Story Diary! She sent me an e-book of The Whispers of the Fallen! She's so absolutely sweet and she puts out fabulous content on her blog/site! I also got Between the Stars and Sky on her recommendation because she loved the book and it was 99 cents on Amazon.

The J.K. Rowling book and The Palace of Laughter, I picked up from going through the books my brother was getting rid of. He was doing a whole clean out of his shelf and so I sorted through them to see if there were any I wanted. I picked those two up and of course I got rid of some old Middle Grade books and some YA that I was never going to read.

I know. You may ask why I picked up the entire Percy Jackson series when I have previously confessed that Percy is one of my favourite book boys and that Percy Jackson is my childhood in a Character Love post. But I saw this new set at Costco. It was $20. for five books. I couldn't resist. And the spines are so pretty!

By this point, I've read In the Afterlight. I actually read it the day it was released. My copy came early because Chapters, the Canadian book retailer, released preorders early. and O.M.G. This book was sooooo good. If you haven't read this series, I sincerely request you reconsider. These books are absolutely fabulous.

ANYWAYS. I'm limiting myself for November. Because October was a little out of hand. I'm only allowed to purchase 3 books a month. That's it. Unless there are circumstances that I find acceptable, like going to a bookish event. That's literally the only circumstance that I can find is acceptable. (Just watch. I might end up making excuses. )

Like many, she's heard of a mythical land simply called “the Blue.” They say it’s a paradise, where the sun still shines and the waters are turquoise. More importantly, it’s a place where Nat won’t be persecuted, even if her darkest secret comes to light.

But passage to the Blue is treacherous, if not impossible, and her only shot is to bet on a ragtag crew of mercenaries led by a cocky runner named Ryan Wesson to take her there.
